New York Comic Con - The Staggering

2011 has been a crazy, incredible year for James and me.
ECCC, C2E2, Wondercon, Heroescon, SDCC, D23 Expo and our wrap party, NYCC.

Our little den of artsy ill repute will be in Artist Alley table L4
We'll be taking commission sketches all convention long and of course, lotsa neat things to sell too.

D23 EXPO

Hot on the heels of Comicon, James "Cadbury" Silvani and I will be playing to well and truly the biggest home crowd ever.

D23 Expo

Anaheim Convention Center, August 19-21

This is the Walt Disney Company's second foray into their bi-annual fan expo. I was at their first one two years ago and it looks like Disney is seriously upping the game for collectables, exclusive events, screenings, guests and most important - letting three scruffy comic people onto their Magical Expo Floor to draw things for people.

For those just joining us, we are comic artists who have produced a very respectable number of Disney comics for Boom! studios over the past two years. James Silvani (Muppet King Arthur, Darkwing Duck), me(Amy Mebberson: Monsters Inc., Muppet Peter Pan, The Muppet Show, Muppet Sherlock Holmes) and Allen Gladfelter (Cars). We are all nutzoid Disney/pop culture fans and consider it the highest honour to get to draw comics worthy of the Walt Disney/Pixar name.

Booth C335: James, Allen and I will be there all 3 days taking sketch commissions and selling limited numbers of our books: Darkwing Duck (The Duck Knight Returns and Crisis on Infinite Darkwings), Muppet Sherlock Holmes, Muppet Show: Family Reunion and others.
James and Allen will also have original comic pages from Darkwing Duck and Cars for sale.

So, if you are coming to D23 and would like a one-of-a-kind sketch of your favourite Disney/Pixar/Marvel/Star Wars character (or any combination of the above), here's what you can get:

Each of these headshots are 5x7" in pen and Copic. They will cost $20 each.
I will also have my Fun Sizes original works for $20 apiece.
If you would like something bigger, we go up to 9x12" in size and the prices start at $30 for a single figure.

Every drawing we do is one of a kind. If you want Mickey as Wolverine, you got it! A picture of your little girl dressed as Belle? Absolutely.
Every drawing James, Allen and I do will be marked with a special D23 exclusive stamp, something you will not see anywhere outside this expo.

After only a few days, James and I are now CLOSED to any Expo commission pre-orders.

San Diego Comic Con - The Duckening

It is that time of year again... in the case of myself and Ducktator James Silvani, our first time.

James and I will be setting up shop in Artist Alley for the very first time and if our pre-commissions are any indication (here and here), this will be 4.5 days of some epic arts-making.

We will be taking commission requests all weekend long, all day, as well as selling plenty of original sketches, Fun Sizes and if you ask, James will have magnificent original Darkwing Duck comic pages.
We are also delighted to do sketchbook work, too, and RELISH any cool fun mashup ideas you may have. Look out for our artwork on the enormous video screen above Artist Alley, kindly sponsored and presented by Deviantart.

Heroescon

After a relatively long pause of 2 months, James "Crazy Talk" Silvani and I are back on the con circuit.

We'll be at Heroescon in Charlotte this coming weekend, where we'll each have brand new con-exclusive prints as well as some old favourites.

The original artwork for these prints will be up for sale at Heroescon's annual art auction.

James and I will be at Artist Alley tables 639-640 and we'll be taking commissions and selling original sketches all weekend, so come on by.

We'll also be taking part in a panel on Sunday at 4pm, discussing licensed comics with two magnificent talents - Roger Langridge and Georges Jeanty.
So come on over, listen to Roger and me talk and finally learn the difference between an Aussie and a Kiwi accent!

"Mongo" Silvani and I are also confirmed for San Diego Comic Con at LAST! We're currently listed at Artist Alley HH20 and we couldn't be more excited. Details to come.

It's that time of year, campers..

CON SEASON!
This year James Silvani and I are on an epic quest to see how many con tables we can snag at the last possible minute :)

First up - Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle.
I will be at table M12 with Cars artist Allen Gladfelter while James rocks the Boom! kids booth with custom Darkwing Duck sketch covers.

Two weeks later, James and I will be at table B5 at C2E2 in Chicago.
It's the con's second year and the growth is remarkable.

We'll be selling original art, sketch cards, prints, books and sketch covers :)

We're still waiting to hear from Wondercon and Heroescon, so stay tuned!

Fun thing going around Deviantart right now.
My artistic epiphany took place when I saw Belle dancing with the Beast in that ballroom. I'd always loved Disney, but THAT'S when I knew I wanted to be a Disney artist.
Muppet Babies and Sailor Moon each inspired several years worth of artsy bollocking around in my younger years. I drew Jill Barklem-esque mice constantly when I was 11. I still have the sketchbooks (eek).
Chris Sanders has continued right where Freddie Moore ended off with his luscious little gals and although I find R Crumb a thoroughly obnoxious human being with some really odious attitudes, I will love his art forever and he inspires me to want to draw a (semi-accurate!) autobiography someday.

Toronto Fanexpo

Another month, another con!

I will be in Toronto for Fanexpo Canada this coming Friday-Sunday. My first Canadian convention, exciting :)
(Suggestions for good watering holes in downtown Toronto welcome!)
As always, I'll be at the BOOM! kids booth where fellow artist Travis Hill and I will be sketch-covering all weekend long on Cars, Muppet Show and (possibly) Toy Story.

Comicon 2010 Roundup

Yes, it DOES take 48-72 hours to recover from Comicon.
I hadn't been to SDCC since 2007 and I had completely forgotten how mofo-ingly HUGE it is.
But in between the non-stop sketching at BOOM! kids from Preview night to end of the day on Sunday, I did manage to get out and embarrass myself to a whole bunch of wonderful, amazing artists.
The ever-classy Chris Sanders, Bobby Chiu and Kei Acedera were both utterly charming, David Colman, Stephen Silver, the Fleet Street guys, Jeff Pidgeon and Josh Cooley. Bumped into the sweetly elfin Brittney Lee at the Gallery Nucleus booth. *sigh* Some day I'll have a piece in a show there. So much cool art.
To say I spent a little money there would be... well, a huge fat whopper. In addition to a pile of inspiring books and sketchbooks, my luggage was augmented by one My Little Pony, Lotso, a Tribble and I TOTALLY would have added She-ra, but that would have required jettisoning clothing.

I had a trio of superstar sketch troopers around me - Alan Gladfelter, Travis Hill and Roger Langridge (Most Robbed Nominee of the Eisners and I will shout it from the damn rooftops)

I met heaps of utterly lovely people and many great conversations were had as I ground through sketch after sketch of Kermit, Gonzo, Piggy, Swedish Chef, Boo, Sully, Woody, Buzz, Jessie, Ham (The Toy Story covers were so popular I ended up pinch-hitting for Travis so the poor bastard could take a rest)
Huge shoutouts to:
Shannon Watters, Boom! editor and booth babe who acted as our formidable den mother and administrator of bathroom breaks and trail mix.
Katie Hayden, Boom!'s people wrangler and assistant to the CEO. We feared for your sanity, honey, but you can't keep the tiny shark down.
Chris, Chris and Jason, my editors. Luv u guys.
The absolutely darling couple who visited us several times in various forms of cosplay. They bestowed on me my FAVOURITE souvenir - The Ellie Badge. MINE!
(I won't post their photo to protect them from being bothered at future cons ;))
Super-writer Seanan McGuire and Tara O'Shea, who introduced me to Paul Cornell (!). He said he knew my Who art (!!) and really enjoyed it (!!!!!)

I also got to spend half a minute in an elevator at 2am with Joss Whedon. For 2am, when minds are a little fuzzy, he was very very cool and happily chatted about Avengers. eee!

FAMILIAR FACES with Amy and Roger!

(Yes I look really really sweaty and brainfried. It was Sunday afternoon when that was taken and I was surviving on Cheezits and comic bag fumes. When he rocked up, I squealed like a 4-year-old. But seriously, you haven't lived till you've hugged a Frog)

These two men, along with Darkwing Duck artist James Silvani are on my tiny list of people I'll do anything for in this world.

Okay, art time! Online reputations WILL catch up with you at cons, so I did quite a few Doctor Who mashups.

And of course, Miss Piggy as Lady Gaga. Separated at birth, I swear.

Roger and I did these sketches for a Cystic Fibrosis charity auction.
Even in the high-pressure, on-the-spot environment of con sketches, Roger's pieces are still sickeningly polished.

All in all, a crazy, exhausting but awesome times with other crazy, exhausted, talented people. Hopefully back next year!

I'll be appearing at Floating World comics this coming Saturday to pimp the comic-y love that is FCBD.
BOOM! are making available Mark Waid's 'Irredeemable' and Jesse Snider/Nate Watson's 'Toy Story' as their freebies this year, but Floating World are going to have free posters of my stuff to sign and very limited quantities of Muppet Show #4 as a blank sketch cover. Buy the comic, I draw the cover character of your choice!

C2E2 roundup

The inaugural year of C2E2 (Chicago Comics & Entertainment Expo) is over. McCormick Place is a fantastic con site and the space was great. HUGE. The attendance wasn't quite as high as most of us were expecting. Initially we wondered if it was just the HUGE SPACE and very wide aisles making the crowds look smaller than they really were, but being the con's first year, I guess not as many people came as people might have hoped. BOOM!'s best day was Sunday - when kids under 12 got in free. Monsters Inc and Toy Story trades sold out and Muppet Peter Pan & Incredibles also sold VERY very well. Yaaaaay!
So what did I do this past weekend? Lots of these:

(heh-heh... please ignore the Tiana pin-up and the super-deformed She-ra girls, that's just my portfolio...)
In fact, according to my waiting list notes, I did a grand total of 188 sketch covers over 3 days. Give or take a few. It was a great big blur. After crunching some numbers, here are the results of the popularity character poll:
Most popular request - Kermit. I am fine with this, because I never get tired of drawing that frog.
2nd most popular - Animal. He was most popular on Friday, but overall he nudged out Piggy by one cover. She will not be happy to hear this.

Another request I had a few times was to draw Muppet versions of attendees. This was really fun. This gentleman was the first one to ask.

Several others followed, including one little customer who made for instant 'd'awwwwwww' all around and was the star of many Tweets.

I got to meet some lovely people and fellow BOOM! creators, including the smashing Jesse Blaze Snider, writer of Muppet Snow White and Toy Story for BOOM! He asked for a picture and I absolutely had to oblige. His dad is.... pretty well-known.

We subtitled it "Separated at Birth".

Ye olde drawing board(looking a LOT tidier than usual because I just finished pencilling an issue). Old Disney friends will recognise quite a few toys up there.
The red and yellow blob on the shelf is the ComiCon 07 My Little Pony special. Super-Pony, yaaaay!
Note the home-made Muppet model screencaps. I don't trust anything Muppety that's not drawn by Michael Frith, so I go straight to the DVDs ;)

Computer corner. This is Eve, the second workstation Scott has built for me over the years. The Eve rug on the floor is a lot dirtier than it looks since a certain dog showed up. On the window sill are the My Little Pony collection (shut up) and various vintage ornaments (and Spooky).
On the wall - my treasured hi-res scan of Chris Sanders' original Lilo watercolour.
Don't ask how I got it.

The lesser-used corner of the room since I got the Cintiq. Both the lightbox and the folder shelf are ex-Disney and at the back is basically my archives and ephemera collections. Work in progress.

Emerald Con 2010- a roundup

I spent a fabbo weekend in Seattle with all the guys at Boom! for Emerald City Comic Con.
I got to meet some folks and get some smashing art. I especially enjoyed meeting the fabulous Brittney Lee, who looks like she should have wings of gossamer, live in a toadstool house and sup the nectar of flowers.
I wanted to get Kate Beaton's book, but you couldn't get NEAR her booth for the crowds. This is what happens when famous webcartoonists offer post-it doodles for a buck.

Boom! had a fantastic weekend and I finally got to see my Monsters Inc. and Muppet Peter Pan trades. Looks MUCH nicer on the glossy paper stock and each book has a full cover gallery, so go buy 'em! By the end of the show we'd sold out of MI trades and only had 2 Pans left, so thank you everyone for stopping by and buying some fun stuff!

I didn't get to see much else of the con because quite frankly, I was SWAMPED all weekend by sketch-seekers and lovely people saying hello. Boom! had the prime anchor location right at the con entrance and I probably missed seeing SO much cool stuff because my head was bent over my sketchcards. I started by doing little pencil sketches for free with book purchase, but after a while people kept eyeballing a little rendered card I did of Kermit and asking if they could buy it. So after a while I decided to just take commissions for the sketchcards. Boy, did a queue build quickly and didn't diminish until the end of the con! But the response was fantastic, I got to make a bit of cash and Boom! moved a LOT of books that weekend with 3 artists in attendance (me, Toy Story artist Nate Watson and Cars artist Alan Gladfelter.
When you get bear-hugged by your CEO, you must be doing something right.

Animal was far and away my most popular request, followed by Kermit and then Beaker.
But one person got rather creative and started something...

He asked for Death as a Muppet. I can NEVER resist a mash-up ;)
I took a quick snap of it before he collected it and we went our merry ways. The next day someone came up to the booth saying 'I got word that Amy did a Muppet Death, does she have a picture?" He had not MET the guy who got Death, but somehow word got around. He was delighted and immediately commissioned a Delirium.
God dammit, I hate it when another series presents itself.

But my ultimate geek-out moment was this: There I was, sketching away and I detected someone looking on. I heard a cheery "hello!" and looked up to see a smiling lady eagerly beaming back. She said she thought my work was lovely and she was so thrilled to see the classic Muppets being seen and loved by kids again. I said thank you. She mentioned she'd just done a puppeteering workshop in Seattle. Something in my head whispered ''Old on... why does she look familiar?" It must have registered on my face because she said "I'm Karen Prell, I played Red on Fraggle Rock!"

(pen drops from hand, leaps to feet)
Amy: *breath* EEEEEEEEEEEE!!! OHMYGAHD SUCH AN HONOUR TO MEET A REAL OLD-SCHOOL MUPPETEER!!! (or rambling fangirl words to that effect)
She indicated the gentleman in the natty hat with her who again, looked vaguely familiar to me for some reason.
"Oh, and this is Jeff Pidgeon from Pixar Story Dept!"
Amy:(fangirl volume rocketing to eleven) EEEEEEEE! OHMYGAHD I'VE FOLLOWED YOU ON FLICKR FOR AGES OF COURSE I KNOW YOU!!
Camera came out in record time (Nate also dropped his sketches in a cloud of dust and came over when I told him) and we had a lovely chat about adapting Muppets and Pixar to comics and they went away well-stocked with Boom! Kids books.

So yes. Excellent weekend, I came away all fired up to make my trip to C2E2 next month even better. And more well-organised. My liver is glad to be home.

So, I guess my little handful of followers have noticed my updates are a little sporadic. There's a reason for that... THIS:

These are all the variant covers I've done from 2009 to the present. Bear in mind, these DON'T include the 9 covers for the two titles I drew cover-to-cover (Monsters Inc. 1-4 and Muppet Peter Pan). No wonder I'm bloody tired!
There are 3 other covers I've done which I can't reveal yet - 1 Nemo, 1 Toy Story and 1.... secret Boom!/Disney title I can't talk about yet but which is super cool ;)

These are the 4 covers I did for Muppet King Arthur (currently in release). My intention with them was to make a set that would form a really awesome gatefold. This is literally the first time I've strung them all together. Not bad!
I also designed and made the logo on the end. Once upon a time, I was a liiiittle obsessed with illuminated manuscripts. When I went to the British Museum, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven.

So what's on my desk right now? Drawing Muppet Show issues 4-7, with script by (who else?) Roger Langridge. After that - well, that's up to the whim of my editor. And he is a man of many whims. It won't be NOTHING, I know that much.
I am so lucky to do what I do.

Yes, I have been extremely quiet. I have been nose-deep in Boom! comics all year and for that I really can't complain. 2009 was quite frankly a fantastic year for me, work-wise, and 2010 is looking to be more of the same if my editor is to be believed ;)
I celebrate the new year a little artistically wobbly, due to my newly-acquired Cintiq 21UX. It is huge and shiny and I love it even though it'll take a little getting used to after ten years on my loyal and still-working Intuos tablet.
But that's what sketches like this are for - practice.

Well, this should be interesting.
Disney's first ever 'fan expo' - D23 - starts this Thursday at Anaheim Convention Centre.
It's not really a con in the regular sense - it's a MASSIVE publicity pimp-out for everything Disney. A con is where you go to see, buy, sell and trade stuff. An expo is where you go to show stuff off. D23 is the latter.

I will be there with Boom! studios on Saturday and Sunday to promote the Pixar/Muppet comics we've all been sweating over for nearly a year now. As of writing, actual activites at the Boom! booth are still being finalised, but no matter - all it takes is the magic words 'FREE SKETCHES' and that should get 'em swarming ;)

I look forward to this with a mixture of fascination and a touch of trepidation. On the one hand, Disney fans are some of the most loyal, friendly and all-embracing of any fandom around. On the other hand, they are hard-fricking-CORE and a liiiiittle scary sometimes. I will be torn between lots of nodding and smiling or messing with their heads.
This is NOT a cheap con, so the cost alone may filter out more casual fans... although I understand that Disney employees get a nice cheap entry discount, so if you're artsy and on the payroll, c'mon by on the weekend and say hi!

Boom! will be located in the Disney Consumer Products section. All the site says is that they're presenting Mark Waid. They appear to have left out 'and Friends' ;p

If you also happen to be a veteran Pixar director, my editor and I would also like your opinion on something. If you have a moment ;)

I just got back from a 2-week roadtrip with friends to San Diego, Flagstaff and Vegas via as many brewpubs as we could find. I had never been to any of them before, which was cool - I don't count ComicCOn because you never venture more than half a mile from the con centre ;p. I took MOUNTAINS of animal photos in San Diego and we roasted our butts off walking the Strip.
Las Vegas was an experience. You expect it to be kitschy and hot and tacky and overpriced, so that wasn't a surprise. But holy cow, the people it attracts.
These are all actual people I mentally stored from our wanderings.

OMG,I'MWORKINGONPIXARCOMICSYOUGUYS!!!!!

What have I been doing the last several months? Only the first, licensed, ORIGINAL Pixar comic stories with Boom! Studios.
Along with a bunch of other great writers and artists, we're all hard at work getting the first wave of stories going. Cars, Incredibles and the Muppet Show will be hitting stands very soon, followed by Finding Nemo, Muppet Show fairytales, Monsters Inc, Toy Story, Wall*E, the whole ball of glorious Pixar wax!

Needless to say, I can't show everything, but now that I have some release dates, look forward to seeing more of my covers and maybe some sample pages of my own titles - the first one involves monsters and doors.

This is variant cover A of Finding Nemo #1 - the interior artist is Erica Leigh Currey, but we're sharing cover duties. (they have to correct the above link to credit me properly, but it IS my art!)

I am thrilled to microscopic bits to be a part of this new series. It's a great plan to bring comics back to children again with characters we all know and love.

Eeeeh, it's a Pixar fan artist's dream job!! :)

As it is, I was rushing to finish several art presents and part of the Project I Still Cannot Name before the husband and I left for Christmas in San Jose with the family.

So woohoo, here's some of what I was working that I only have a chance to show now!

I was invited to do the cover of Falalalala's ADVENTures in Carols compilation. We decided to go with a vintage children's book look.

Our Christmas in San Jose included meeting a new member of the family - my very first nephew! Christopher George. This is the illo for his birth announcement.

If you haven't looked at my Flickr lately, I recently spent a week in Springfield IL, helping my mother-in-law clean out the home of her late parents. These two old dears were incurable packrats(like most of my husband's family ;)) and as well as uncovering heaps of old photos and family history, I also saved a mountain of vintage ephemera from the dumpster.
Unfortunately, I didn't get much drawing done. Make that none. Bad me :/
I'm now finally starting to filter through the stuff and use it for some inspiration...

I found a stack of old school photos of my mother-in-law's classmates from 54-56. Some priceless expressions on these kids.

We went to Oregon Zoo a few weeks back. Just a couple of toon birds adapted from the sketches.

Bought a new art journal a couple of weeks ago.. another one to add to the at least THREE other sketchbooks being filled. But I am determined that this one will be just free-forming stuff. Whatever enters my head or I see something interesting, I will comment on it, just for myself.
Plus, brown paper + white paint pen = win.

The book is a Cachet Earthbound sketchbook. Not exactly on the cheap end of sketchbooks, but it's the only non-bleached recycled paper sketchbook I could find and it looks pretty good.

You know, I've decided that Painter 9 and I just aren't going to get along. I'm sure it could do everything I could ask of a digital paint program, but the interface and menus are too damn bloated and complex and badly-organised.
If I do any more of these, I might try doing them hard-copy with markers and pens. Try drawing a reasonably straight line free-hand with a tablet.

I got my copy of Dream Worlds the other day. Ooooooooh. Drool, baby, drool. If you get no other artbook this year, get this one. Hans has finally shown me the light on how to do frame layouts properly.

This is Badcrumble, a punk band to which we shred away on Rock Band.
I've done these guys once before over here, but I've decided that markers suit them better.

These are 3 of our other Rock Band characters who form the band 'The Cheesecake Factory' - Miki(drums), Rosethorn(lead guitar) and Obsidian (vocals).
I did these and mocked them up into unofficial Rock Band trading cards just for giggles, but I decided the original artwork looked kinda neat on its own.

It ended nearly fifty years ago, but it's still one of the greatest comedy shows ever made and arguably the greatest radio comedy EVER. All British comedy as you know it can be traced back to these guys.

This is Morgs. He's one of my parents' two Australian terriers. He's also a very sick little guy.
On Saturday, he woke up with his legs paralysed and unable to walk. My parents immediately suspected the curse of Eastern Australian dog-lovers - the paralysis tick. Sure enough, a 3-day tick was found on his leg that had been missed and its neurotoxin had hit him big time. He's now in his forth day of veterinary intensive care, completely physically paralysed and suffering aspiration pneumonia (the big side-effect killer). He can't even close his eyes from the paralysis. Luckily, he has around-the-clock care by some amazing vets, without whom he'd surely have died. He's not out of the woods yet by a long way, but I've been worrying about him constantly and felt like sketching him in his normal, ball-of-energy way. Maybe some healing karma will reach him.

I'm going through all my archives looking for material for a craft project I'm working on (more on that in a future entry) and thought I'd post a few things from the Dead End pile.

A good friend of ours loves birds. A LOT. His children consist of a flock of Gouldian finches, six cockatiels(sketches here) and a cranky but hilarious African Grey called Grumbles(sketches here). Dogs and cats are represented left right and centre in comics, but where's the parrot humour? They're very entertaining when they're just being parrots.... at least I think so :/

Concept art for a Tokyopop/Harper-Collins title ("The Faerie Path") that I 'auditioned' for - I didn't get it, but probably for the best - I like doing girly stuff, but this audition came RIGHT when I'd just found out that Diva was cancelled. I wasn't in the best mood that week, so the art probably wasn't as good as it might have been in my usual gung-ho attitude.

I was asked back in Feb if I was interested in drawing Tokyopop's Princess Ai comic strip. Although I was bucking to get my OWN title, Divalicious!, into the funnies, I though what the hey. I did some concept art and sample strips, talked to people at New York Con and decided there and then to bail amicably.
Let's just call it artistic differences and leave it at that.

I'm ready to go back to animation. I had lunch with the lovely Ward Jenkins and the shagadelic Eric Weise the other day. But more on that, later, too ;)

Swimsuits up till the early 60's were a hundred times sexier than the shoelaces that pass today. And the models SMILED.
I've seen at least 3 female celebrities on tv this week with that... it's not pectus excavatum, but that freakish bony hollow between their boobs. It looks fricking revolting, and I'm not sure if it's a result of aging, malnutrition, too much exercise or botched boob jobs.

Practiced some inking this afternoon on Rosie and Edie... this is after my usual daily task of two completed strips.

Another page from the archive of post-its. I've slacked off these a bit lately, I might do some more this week... now that my new ipod Nani is digesting 17.5 gigs of music, I have plenty of material.
And I haven't even started uploading my Eurovision collections yet. >:)

I was just watching this clip from 'Silk Stockings' on Youtube.
I saw it on tv over a year ago and Cyd Charisse just blew me away, so I had to find her again and sketch her.

I've been toying with designing a bunch of characters that so far have defied efforts to visualise them - BBC's Goons.

Maybe SOME time I'll bend Flash to my will enough to animate them :/

Hey. Yeah, I'm still alive, just pottering around with various personal projects as well as complete Vol. 2 of Divalicious.
I've decided to do the cool blog endeavour of self-publishing a sketchbook. I'm not sure what theme(s) it will take yet, but obviously it'll need new art. I wanted to try something inspired by the doodlings of Chris Battle and Kristen McCabe and have post-it notes on-hand to do little things on. I kinda got carried away because I now have a couple dozen of the things done. Here's just one page of them.
Some of the pics are just created off the top of my head, but most of them are inspired by old ads or a kistchy piece of wrapping paper.

Another thing I wanted to get under my belt - sculpting! I had a heap of old SuperSculpy lying around but it was hard as a rock from poor storage. A few drops of softener and a lot of gentle kneading(with a claw hammer) and it was usable again.

She's been in the oven - her pigtails and ribbons got a little toasty, there, but paint will cover those up. I think she came out rather well, just as I think Rosie'd look in 3D.
